Belgian-European Pavilion: Philosophy

Life after the financial crisis of 2008 will not be the same, power will be spread differently. Economic and trade globalization was the first step of globalization. Nowadays the flow of ideas, flow of knowledge and information is going so fast that it impacts the structures of authority, legal framework and world governance. It is nice to observe that the entire planet is concerned by the same objective: “save the world economy and thinking sustainable”. Expo 2010 and the motto of the city “Better City Better Life” is also part of the solution. Expo 2010 will reflect and introduce ideas for the world of the 21st century.

Diversity but Unity

The world will go through the current crisis only if leaders agree to cope with the diversity of people in the multi-polar world. The world governance will be inspired and led by people from very different cultural, religious and historical background. But all of them are living today in the same village: The World.

Living in an organic world

All Belgians share some common values: Low profile, pragmatic, warm and easy going. As expatriates, and world travelers, we know that we are all really appreciated for those qualities. The Belgian-European Pavilion needs to reflect all that. In the world today, it is a must. On a world scale, we have the choice between unity and going along all together trying to solve and understand what’s next or we are entering into a big chaos for few years.
